Ingredients

At Premier Molasses, feed safety and quality are integral parts of our business. The sourcing of ingredients from suppliers who only operate under industry recognised quality assurance schemes is key to maintaining these two principles.

Molasses

Molasses is the base ingredient used in the Premier Molasses feed range. Derived from the production of sugar from sugar cane and beet its predominantly sourced from Asia, South America and Europe. A natural co-product from two different plant sources, molasses can vary in its characteristics, but its benefits within the feed mill and on farm are constant. The natural properties of molasses, allow for enhanced taste, aroma, texture and quality of course and compound feeds. Additionally, including molasses in formulations can reduce inherent dust in meals, improve product flow from storage bins while also reducing pelleting die wear.

Condensed Molasses Solubles (CMS)

Condensed Molasses Solubles (CMS) or alternatively vinasse in many parts of Europe, is the name given to the evaporated substrate retrieved from fermentation industries based upon molasses. Produced mainly from alcohol production in Europe, CMS is also obtained from yeast, amino/glutamic acid and lysine, which are mainly produced in Asia. High in crude protein, CMS is the ideal product to blend with molasses, as not only will it increase the protein content of the finished liquid feed but also aid in its handling characteristics.

De-sugared beet molasses (DSBM)

De-sugared beet molasses (DSBM) or raffinate as its termed in the UK, is the liquid extract remaining after the partial removal of sucrose and betaine from beet molasses. This high dry matter (DM) co-product, aids in increasing the overall sugar content of the finished feed while also increasing its protein content.

Glycerine

Glycerine is a colourless, odourless, sweet tasting energy dense liquid that is a co-product of biofuel production from vegetable oil. Renowned for its high energy content, glycerine is the ideal supplement for dairy, beef and sheep diets. As a glucose solution, it acts as a glycogenic precursor for milk synthesis while also increasing water consumption in dairy cows. Furthermore, glycerine improves feed efficiency and dry matter intakes (DMI) while also increasing the overall energy of the diet.
