Who we are

Premier Molasses is Ireland's leading importer and distributor of cane and beet molasses for animal feed and industrial use. The company was formed in 1980 as a result of a joint venture between Irish Sugar plc (now Greencore Group plc) and United Molasses UK (Tate & Lyle Group plc).

As the country's largest trader in molasses liquids, Premier Molasses has a unique advantage over its competitiors with its ability to provide customers with an ever increasing range of customised products, together with unrivalled support services. Further tank storage facilities and development allow Premier Molasses maintain their policy of innovation, excellence as market leaders and commitment to customers.

There are also blending and mixing facilities for the production of molasses blends, which provide a flexible choice of energy and protein levels in feedstuffs required by customers. Premier molasses also trades all surplus molasses from Irish Sugar both for animal feed and industrial use.

Since the formation of Premier Molasses we have handled over 2 million metric tonnes of product. Our core competence is bulk liquid storage and distribution. Our deep water terminal in Ringaskiddy Co Cork is ideally located to serve the needs of the ever growing pharmchem and food sectors . We are now in a position to offer third party storage facilities to companies involved in these areas.

Capacity

Premier Molasses currently has storage capacity totalling over 50,000 metric tonnes at two deep sea locations in Ireland.

Locations

Foynes (Shannon), Co. Limerick - Head Office and storage capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes.

Port of Cork, Ringaskiddy - storage capacity of 19,000 metric tonnes.
Due to increased demand for our products a second bulk liquid storage terminal was constructed in 1996 at Ringaskiddy. Phase 1 of this project has now been completed. Capacity will be increased as demand for storage space grows. The depot in Ringaskiddy is a state-of-the-art bulk liquid storage facility. All systems are PC controlled facilitating optimum efficiency levels in its operation.

Carlow - storage capacity located close to sugar factory and used as a distribution point.

Belfast - storage capacity via its sister company United Molasses (Irl) Limited.

Quality Mark Quality Control and Service is the Company's principal philosophy, resulting in our import, storage, distribution and manufacturing sites being accredited to ISO 9002 since 1994 by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Limited.
